Psychiatric Injury & PTSD

Mark McGhee, one of the country’s leading Solicitors practicing in the field of psychiatric injury and human rights, is representing a number of young women who were patients in units run by The Huntercombe Group.

The issues which have been brought to Mark McGhee’s attention by victims have now been widely publicised by The Independent and Sky News.

Mark is representing Amber who figures prominently in the Sky News Special Report and the Independent’s story, who together with her mother have had the courage to waive anonymity in the hope that by speaking out, more victims will feel empowered to come forward to share their experiences and concerns.

Together with the victims and their families who have already instructed Mark, he and his colleagues at R James Hutcheon Solicitors are currently pursuing and investigating claims of violation of rights including fundamental human rights and freedoms under the Human Rights Act 1998.  In addition, Mark continues to liaise with various statutory bodies including NHS England, hoping to obtain far greater transparency and accountability in respect of the matters and issues that have been raised with him, by victims and their families.

Mark said:

I have been asked to advise a number of victims and their families.  All have provided strikingly similar accounts of their experiences to me and my colleagues at R James Hutcheon Solicitors, which are mirrored in the recent reports of Sky News and in the Independent.

My duties and responsibilities are to fearlessly prosecute the claims and concerns raised with me and at the same time, to liaise with all relevant Authorities, to ensure that victims and their families have a voice.

These issues are extremely sensitive.  The victims have sustained very grave and serious injuries.  Because of that I and my team at R James Hutcheon Solicitors are totally committed to obtaining justice for and on behalf of our clients, whose experiences and ordeals can only be described as quite horrific.

Mark and his specialist team at R James Hutcheon Solicitors can be contacted in the following ways:

Sky News Special Report: Sky News Special Report: Huntercombe Investigation mistreatement of young teenagers

Government Ministers are now demanding a public inquiry into the care of mental health patients after The Independent revealed allegations that patients had suffered “systemic abuse” in inpatient units.
