It is believed the 16-year-old apprentice was working beside a experienced colleague on a piece of machinery when the work place accident happened.
The young colleague was working on a piece of machinery when a small wood piece jammed, he then tried to take a look inside the machine to see if he was able to rectify the problem when his glove got caught in the rotating blade, resulting in his hand being dragged into the machine causing serious damage.
The colleague lost his middle finger, part of his thumb and muscle damage to his hand which resulted in him being off work for 18 weeks.
