Worst flight delay airlines
Two of the UK’s leading carriers have been ranked in the top three of the world’s worst airlines for dealing with flight delay compensation claims.
EasyJet was number two and Virgin Atlantic was number three. 30 airlines were given scores based on their punctuality and the time it takes them to make a payout for flight delay compensation.
EasyJet stated: “We do not recognise these findings” and went on to state that “EasyJet has been commended by its regulator the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) for its handling of EU261 claims and we will always pay compensation when it is due.”
Virgin Atlantic also advised: “We strongly question the validity of this report. We do everything we can to respond as quickly as possible and on average pay all eligible EU261 claims 14 days after receipt.”
