Subject: Slippery road causes motorbike crash
A man has been taken to hospital with suspected head injuries after his motorbike struck a van in heavy rain.
The accident happened when the 30 year old motorcyclist collided with the van shortly before 4pm. It was believed that the van driver escaped unhurt, but the green Kawaski motorbike was badly damaged and left partly underneath the van.
A spokeswoman said the cause is unknown but that heavy downpours of rain creating slippery surfaces could have been responsible.
