VW seeks to reassure US dealerships in wake of emissions scandal
VW have told its dealers in America that the car manufacturer are still looking to sell to the masses even though their reputation was dealt a big blow in the wake of the emissions scandal last year. According to Bloomberg the German company is trying to stem discontent among its retailers as it battles with American regulators over the fate of nearly 600,000 diesel vehicles that were rigged to cheat emissions tests.
Sales of VW cars and trucks in the US dropped by 10% in March, showing that customers have been alienated by the emissions scandal which rocked the automotive world last year.
