VW Compensation Claims
VW may have to set aside more money.
It appears that VW are becoming increasingly worried that the plethora of claims being registered with solicitors with regards to the emissions scandal may hit them harder then they originally thought.
CEO Matthias Mueller was talking at this week’s prestigious Geneva Motor Show. He explained that the emissions scandal, which has plagued VW and its reputation, “may cost more than expected”. Having already set aside £5.2 billion VW are currently waiting for a judgement from regulators who are undertaking an internal enquiry to fathom how much the management new about the emissions issue before it was exposed in the US and Europe.
According to The Telegraph The Geneva Motor Show was certainly one to forget for the car manufacturer as one of their press conferences was hijacked by a protestor. An elaborate one man protest cut short the press conference and hindered VW attempts to put the emissions scandal behind them and concentrate on future productions.
The protester quickly sought to remind attendees of the emission scandal which saw the car manufacturer install software that allow their diesel cars to show misleading and wrong scores in emissions tests.
