A motorcyclist thanked air ambulance medics that helped her after she was in a motorbike accident with a lorry.
A female motorcyclist was seriously injured on the A688 near Barnard Castle when the motorcycle she was riding skidded on oil left on the road and veered into the path of an oncoming HGV lorry.
The motorcyclist had been riding for 17 years before the accident. She suffered serious leg injuries due to the crash.
The received treatment at the scene by air ambulance crews before she was airlifted to a hospital in Middlesbrough. Further to the motorbike accident claim she needed an operation for a dislocated ankle and had to spend two weeks in hospital. The motorcyclist was then readmitted for an infection in her knee.
Six weeks on from the motorbike accident she is recovering though her leg is still in a cast and still needs crutches to be mobile.
