A 22 year old motorcyclist told his friend he was looking forward to riding his new Yamaha motorbike to work twelve days before he was killed. He posted pictures on Facebook and Twitter saying “Looking forward to driving to work these days.”
He lost his life when he was traveling home from work on the A431 Kelston Road and lost control of the motorbike. An inquest heard that he lost control when he came over the brow of a hill onto a sharp bend. He skidded down the road into the path of a taxi. The driver of the taxi had no time to react as the rider crashed into the front of his car causing fatal accident.
The evidence found that he was not speeding and there were no drugs or alcohol in his system. The accident was ruled accidental as it was though he lost control on a patch of ice on the road.
