Monarch -flight delay compensation.
A well known airline company delayed passengers for nearly 24 hours.
Monarch Passengers were only told that there flight was delayed until after it was scheduled to leave. The airline advised that this was due to mechanical difficulties meaning that there plane could not take off.
The airline advised angry passengers that a new aircraft had to be dispatched to Egypt to bring the stranded passengers home.
Holidaymakers were put up into a hotel why they waited for their replacement plane.
Passengers advised that there was no official representatives from the airline around so they was not able to discuss their problems.
Flight delay compensation claim against Monarch
It was thought by Airlines that if the flight delays were due to mechanical or electrical failures which could not routinely be detected by the usual service and maintenance of the aircraft.
This argument was put to the test in court but the airlines failed. Even if it was a mechanical fault with the plane, it did not stop the chance to make a flight delay compensation claim against Monarch or other Airline Companies that breach the EU Regulations.
