Flights arriving at and departing from Manchester Airport were ‘significantly’ reduced because of a technical issue on 5th April 2016.
People flying from Manchester Airport were advised to check live flight information following an issue with the airport’s Electronic Flight Progress Strip System (EFPSS). The EFPSS co-ordinates the safe movement of aircraft on taxiways, runways and in the immediate airspace surrounding the airport. To read the full report please click here.
A statement from Manchester Airport said: “Due to a technical issue with our Electronic Flight Progress Strip System – which is used to manage the safe movement of aircraft on taxiways, runways and in the immediate airspace surrounding the airport – we are experiencing delays for both arriving and departing aircraft. The safety of our passengers is our number one priority and we will work to return the airport to full operation at the earliest opportunity.”
