Subject: Man falls 15 metres to his death at work

A building firm has been sentenced after an employee fell 15 metres to his death in an empty water storage.

The horrific accident happened when the 45 year old had been constructing brick manhole chambers above the water storage which were designed to collect flood water.

Investigations later found that they had not been given sufficient information or a risk assessment for the job. They were also not given any advice or training about working above the water storage by their employer.

His employer was ordered to pay £33,000.
