A specialist company that makes scenery for London’s theatres and fashion shows has been prosecuted after a worker was struck by a falling piece of scenery.
The 35 year old worker suffered head skull injury and leg fractures at work when the scenery toppled from a forklift truck and pinned him to the ground.
Investigations found that a lack of planning was the prime cause of the incident. The company was fined £3,500 and ordered to pay £2,033 in costs.
