A pensioner from the US passed away when the first floor of her home collapsed. The floor collapsed because of the weight of hoarded belongings.
The 66 year old woman was found because a postman raised an alarm that her post was pilling up two days after the accident.
When officers went to the home they did not realise that the first floor had collapsed as the clutter was piled waist high. It only became apparent until the next day. Her body was found when an excavator started moving debris threw out the house.
Reportedly the 66 year old woman refused offers from social services for help.
Items that were piled up in the house included: bottles, newspapers, magazines and post.
She was believed to be dead for around a week before her body was discovered.
