A French air traffic control strike is set to delay passengers travelling to and from the continent. The industrial action will start in France from 5am on Sunday until 5am on Tuesday.
EasyJet has cancelled around 96 flights and stated customers are entitled to switch flights free of charge or receive a refund. to read more click here.
If you suffer a flight delay because of a strike, your airline has an obligation to offer you assistance. Assistance can include food and drink and overnight accommodation, if required.
Unlike delays for other reasons, airlines are not obliged to offer compensation following a strike because they are usually considered to be ‘extraordinary circumstances’ and out of the airlines’ control, however if you are delayed after the initial strikes are over you may still be entitled to claim.
