As current UK law stands a maximum amount of £12,980 is granted for the death of a loved one called a bereavement award, but we consider this an insult, when compared to pay-outs to celebrities for “hurt feelings” or “breach of privacy” of over £200,000. In Scotland the law is different, each wrongful death is considered on a case by case basis and a loss of a child was valued at £100,000.
