Two people are confirmed dead and 19 others injured after a fatal accident in Brazil. An overpass which was built as an improvement for Brazils World Cup collapsed onto a busy road.
The road was rushed as it needed to be ready in time for the World Cup authorities said in Belo Horizonte.
The overpass fell on top of a bus, trucks and a car. The car was flattened by the concrete, police fear that there are still bodies trapped in the car. The bus driver has been confirmed dead.
When the fatal accident occurred workmen were taking down the iron structure which was surrounding the concrete, witnesses have claimed. A 37 year old male who witnessed the fatal accident said ‘it was a terrifying thing. I still can’t believe what I saw. I was standing nearby talking with my daughter. Suddenly the viaduct crashed down all in one go, it happened in an instant.’
