A 48 year old man has sadly died after being knocked off his bike by a wing mirror of a motor.
The accident happened when a youth worker, 38, was driving a minibus when the wing mirror knocked the cyclist off of his bike on a busy commuter road.
The cyclist was wearing an orange high visibility jacket, an anklet with LED lights and lights on his bicycle at the time of the crash, despite this, the driver of the mini bus claimed he did not see anyone and thought his wing mirror had hit a bus stop or road sign.
A postmortem examination showed that the man had suffered a head injury an his helmet was ’smashed to bits’.
