A construction company has been ordered to pay more than £126,000 in fines and costs after a worker was left paralysed from the waist down when he fell eight metres from an unguarded window space into a basement.
The accident happened when the man was part of a team transforming former Victorian hostels into town houses. During the work, windows were removed, this is where the 38 year old fell through, plunging eight metres to the concrete ground.
As a result of the accident, the man sustained permanent, life-changing injuries.
