Flight Delay Compensation

EU Transport Ministers are due to consider changers to the EU Legislation 261 on June 11th meaning if they succeed it will be harder for passengers to claim flight delay compensation.

It is being considered that the time the aircraft is delayed increases from three hours to five hours in order for passengers to claim.

It is also suggested that due to a “technical fault” with the plane, no flight delay compensation can also be made.

Combined with a reduction from six years to 3 months time limit for passengers to make a flight delay compensation claim it certainly a plan to reduce the ability to make a claim.

The Alliance for Air Passenger Rights was launched to try and these stop legal changes, they will be attending this meeting in order to try and stop these new rules coming into force.
