An eight month old baby was in nursery when she had hot custard poured over her. The burns’ where on four main areas of her body:face, neck, chest and arm. After some time the affected areasrevealed faintwhite scar tissue, though her scar on her chin was pink.
There was no surgery needed and there was no need for any interventionin the future. The scarring would fade in time and would not be noticeable when she was an adult.
As her mothertook time offwork to look after her child she received4 weeks loss of earning and out of pocket expenses.The child received £9800 for herscaring and injury.
