A cheese manufacturer has been fined after an accident at work, where a worker injured his leg and ankle when he fell from the forks of a forklift truck during an unsafe loading operation.
The accident happened when the 53 year old had been helping to load cheese on to a wagon so it could be delivered to a customer. He was being lifted up to the wagon, with one foot on each prong on the forklift when the vehicle suddenly jolted, causing him to fall a metre to the ground.
He suffered cuts to his leg and multiple fractures to his ankle.
The firm was fined £8,000.
