A 19-year-old man died in a fatal accident. It is claimed that he was hit by a car in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police were called after a man was found lying in the road at around 00.25am on the Northern Perimeter Road close to the junction with Parkway in Bootle. Another call stated that they saw a man get hit by a car and the car left the scene.
Emergency services pronounced the young male dead at the scene.
Officers from the Matrix and Organised Crime Collision Investigation Team have closed the road off to establish how the fatal accident occurred.
A 23 year old male from Bootle later handed himself in, he is waiting for questioning. The male may be charged with death by dangerous driving.
