AROUND £130 million will sit unclaimed from summer flight delay compensation as British holiday makers are failing to cash-in on compensation owed to them by airlines.
Summer 2016 has been the worst for flight delay passengers for two years. Almost 4,500 flights were cancelled or delayed in July and August this year alone, and more than 76 per cent are entitled to flight delay compensation.
Meaning that money rightfully owed to passengers, is being pocketed by the airlines.
The flight delays this year can be blamed on striking French Air Traffic Controllers, bad weather, protestors and a pothole on the runway.
The airlines are supposed to proactively offer compensation yet the airlines are simply not cooperating or doing enough to ensure passengers receive their flight delay compensation.
